Introduction
A SuperYacht is defined as a privately-owned luxury vessel (sailing or power) longer than 24m (78') and that has a permanent, full-time crew.
There are 6300+ vessels around the world that fit this category and currently a very minute number of them are either registered in Brazil or eventually cruising Brazilian waters, regardless of the country extensive coast and multiple yachting destinations.
The ABRASSI (Portuguese acronym for Brazil SuperYacht Association) was founded in April 2014 by companies and professionals that work with these vessels in the Brazilian Market with the objectives of improving the national yachting industry as a whole.
The association works as a hub where industry professionals; yacht owners, captains and crew; and correlated luxury segments can communicate, network, gather ideas and opinions, and ultimately work as a group to achieve the necessary developments to bring Brazil up to pace with the standards practiced in the mature yachting markets.
